And Then She Came – “And Then She Came” (2016)

Label: DME Music

Review by Tony Cannella

And Then She Came is a German metal band. Their self-titled debut album has just been released and to say that they have a wealth of talent at their disposal would be an understatement. The band is fronted by Krypteria vocalist Ji-In Cho and the band is more than ‘just’ a metal band, really. While ‘metal’ can be used as a generalized term, ATSC, offers so much more, which makes them really impossible to pigeon-hole. The powerful riff-age of the opening track, “Five Billion Lies” gets us started. Joining the band as a guest on this song is none other than Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy. Next is easily my favorite song, “Public Enemy #1” and this is definitely an infectious song, with a great chorus and melody. This is just a very memorable song and definitely shows off the eclectic nature of the band. “Why So Serious” is another solid track. This song has another killer melody and some cool lyrics. Evanescence guitarist Jen Majura can be heard on the next track “Spit It Out”. Other highlights include: “Who’s Gonna Save You”, “Like a Hurricane” and “Where Do We Go From Here”. And Then She Came has released an excellent debut album. Each song is well written and hits you hard and fast. As I mentioned earlier, ATSC is a difficult band to categorize.  They have an eclectic array of influences but suffice it to say, ATSC is the total package.

Rating – 80/100
