Stainless officially started in Portland, Oregon, in 2022. “I would describe us as hard rock or heavy rock,” explains Jamie Byrum, guitarist of the band, “there are plenty of heavy metal elements in our sound, but I think it would be misleading to call us a pure heavy metal band.”

The new album of Stainless, Lady Of Lust & Steel
The first sign of life by Stainless was the Snakebite/Too Hot To Steal single (self-released on vinyl), followed by the mini-album Nocturnal Racer, their debut for High Roller Records. Lady Of Lust & Steel is the band’s first full length offering, so what about the actual music itself. Well let’s start by saying this is no nonsense heavy rock flirting with heavy metal coupled with touches of glam.
(Don’t Cross Me) Fool is one of my faves from the record
The opener Restless an’ Ready is a belter, while Whorefrost ups the tempo even more with a much more metallic vibe, to me this is metal. (Don’t Cross Me) Fool offers a funky hard rock vibe, this is the first single from the album and has “single” written all over it, catchy, heavy and one of my faves from the record. Lady Of Lust & Steel and Danger In The Night are total bangers, with the latter flirting with power metal territory coupled with a catchy mid paced chorus.
Stainless’s Lady Of Lust & Steel is “a total banger!”
Next up Take a Listen Mama has a slow bluesy Whitesnake vibe, another fave of mine from the album. I could do with some Vitamin Tease to keep me going while closer Rough Justice is a take from the 80s metal song book. This is a solid hard rocking album, with the gravelly vocals of Larissa Cavacece nailing it. A total banger!
