Few indie bands capture attention as vividly as UK’s post-grunge power trio ISEEORANGE. Fronted by the charismatic Giselle, the trio has been on a whirlwind of shows and releases, carrying their momentum from 2025 into this spring. Their infectious new single Wine Boy, released in March, continues to earn acclaim for its nostalgic yet fresh sound, praised by outlets like KEXP. I sat down with Giselle to chat about Wine Boy, her Friday writing rituals, and recording new material in Los Angeles with producer Philip Broussard Jr.—a glimpse into what makes ISEEORANGE one of the most exciting acts to watch in 2026.

Welcome to ISEEORANGE
So first, Giselle, I wanted to thank you for your time for accepting this invitation. I wanted to, first, to ask you, how are you? And, you know, how is going the promotion of Wine Bowl? Because I know it has been out since the end of March and that’s been crazy feedback about it.
Hi, thank you for having me. Yeah, it’s been wonderful. We released a song on March 13th when we were still in our little USA tour. We played at the New Colossus Festival in New York and then South by Southwest in Austin, and then we had a few shows in LA together with a recording of two new songs. So the song came out while we were in Austin, and it’s been really, really great. We are right now in New York.
We have a PR campaign going on for radio and articles, magazines for Wine Boy. Furthermore, we released a music video as well. It’s on YouTube. And it’s going really well. Yeah, we’re happy with it.
The new single from ISEEORANGE: Wine Boy
So let me get started about asking you about Wine Boy. Because, you know, I find it a really infectious song. And I really like it. I was wondering to know more about it.
Of course, yeah. Well, we really like that song. In my personal opinion, I never thought the song to be a single, but my bandmates, Cameron and Charlie, guitarist and drummer, they both really loved the song. So, I was like, “Let’s make it a single, let’s make it a single”. And it wasn’t like my personal favourite, but I learned to love it because of how much they love it.
But it has a very peculiar kind of inspiration story behind it. So I wrote the song out of pretty much boredom. And I was so tired after a long week at work because I work a normal office job. So every Friday evening I will sit on my lunch with my guitar and a glass of wine and either reading some books, poetry, or just play my guitar and see what I can come up with. So, yeah, I call those little Friday rituals my Poets Fridays. It’s just for myself, like, you know, time for yourself that you need after a long week of work, and you are basically, like, soulless at the end of the week. So, yeah, when I wrote that song, I was, like, starting to drink red wine.
The story behind Wine Boy
Because I am from Mexico. I moved to the UK five years ago. So in Mexico, you don’t really drink wine as a casual drink. And when I came to the UK, they just have it every, like for dinner or, you know. And at first I was like, ew, no, I would never like wine. At the end of the day, I ended up loving it. And I know it sounds really silly, but I got really inspired by how much I like wine that I wanted to write about it. So one of those nights with some wine in my system, I wrote a song. I thought, okay, how can I make, how can I take this like kind of love that I’m developing for this drink, not in an unhealthy way, for this drink and put it in a song. So I decided to use it as a metaphor and basically made this drink, it’s more like a character, a person. And I made it kind of like a love kind of story.
The previous single Mental Rot
And, you know, I mean, this year it has been crazy for you guys, especially 2025, because it has been a long run of singles and songs and tours and showcases. I know, for example, that KEXP played the previous single Mental Rot. Like, it does crazy numbers on YouTube. It’s unbelievable, you know, how everything goes so fast.
Yeah, we are really happy with that, by the way. It was just literally like very naturally, just out of nowhere, to be honest. We are really happy for how much KEXP’s got so much attention in the music video. I think that we really capture the kind of the nostalgic side of it. Because when people listen to our music or see us play, it’s pretty much like the same all the time.
It’s like, “You guys sound like a band from the 90s”, but at the same time fresh, but a word that always comes to us when a new person like listen to music is like nostalgic. I think that in the visuals of that music video we put that in there, so maybe that’s why it’s doing so well because you know it’s both things.

ISEEORANGE collaboration with JPU Records
Another thing I really loved was your single, Doll Guts. I really like it, and since I love the Japanese music scene, it was also interesting to me because it’s the first time JPU Records has released something by a non-Japanese artist. At first, I was a bit confused when I read the press release, because I thought, “What’s the idea behind this?” But then I understood there’s a clear logic to it, and that it’s really a musical decision.
We got approached by Tom from JPU Records in Brighton last year when we played The Great Escape. I think he missed his train or something, and he decided to stop at the place we were playing. And then that’s how he stayed until the show finished, and then he introduced himself to us. And then we keep in contact and decided to, you know, he wanted that try because he wants to expand. But I was like, as well, because I didn’t really hear of JPU records before. And I was like, wow, what he does is really, excellent and interesting. And it was, yeah, it was amazing.
Working with Philip Broussard Jr
ISEEORANGE is working on a possible debut album. I read here that you guys have just wrapped up a recording session in LA with Philip Broussard Jr. How was to work with him if you can say something? So I even understand if you cannot say a lot about it…
Well, what I can definitely say is that it was, wow, like an extremely new for us. And so good and crazy experience because we got to work with Philip. He is another level professional. We were like, learning the entire time while we were doing it. We also did it in the old-fashioned way we recorded like the 90s indie bands to record it was like a live session. Not only that, but we recorded for two days from very early in the morning to very late at night yeah early 90s.
Working with Philip Broussard Jr [cont]
Oh my god, it was just crazy because we got to learn a lot. He’s amazing, and he had some crazy stories as well very like amazing stories that with bands that he has worked with. He was involved with the Adele 2021 album with he worked with Linkin Park. Indeed, he worked with just amazing artists, and it was just really nice. We also his colleague Tyler was helping the entire time engineering. All that was just a lot of things to learn, we enjoyed the entire time and yeah we really wish it wouldn’t end it. We would have like to stay there an entire week but oh my god that’s all I can say for now. It was definitely just a session on another level.
The most important lesson during that experience
What I want to ask is what did you learn about it during that session?
Just different manner to record that we never did before. You know, up until now, what we will be recording is just like, you know, with separately, like tracking the guitar first, tracking the drums, tracking the vocals. And this was a live band together at the same time. Everything is still obviously and all that, but it was like playing live you know. Even though, we were in different rooms we we were still being able to see each other. During all this, I was able to see him working and giving us advice on everything. It was just crazy and wonderful.

“We record only two songs with him [Philip Broussard Jr]”
Even if I think it’s still a bit premature to ask if there are any concrete plans for when the album will be released. I probably wouldn’t ask that, because I understand everything is still in the process. But that makes me even more curious about it—I’m really curious, in fact. Especially because, as you mentioned, the idea of all of you being together day and night during the sessions is already a challenge, in the sense that there’s always a risk of getting on each other’s nerves and ending up arguing.
The same day we landed in LA, we went directly to the studio after an entire week of being at South by Southwest. It was crazy but honestly just the adrenaline and the excitement of it having that opportunity we were just fine. Also, we record only two songs with him while the other tracks of the album that we are preparing are already recorded. Those we have recorded ourselves. Though I wouldn’t like to say that these two are definitely going to be in. Maybe, we don’t know yet.
The next plans for ISEEORANGE
And now, given all this, what are the next ISEEORANGE plans about, you know, touring, recordings, you know, the next projects?
Well, the next, I think it’s going to be early summer when we’re going to announce the album. Indeed, we are on that process now of getting everything prepared and to pick a release date for it so we can actually announce. We are also working on getting a focus track for the album that is going to come up at the same time with the album together with the music video. Which entails picking a date and getting all the art together. And yeah, hopefully announce soon because we really, really want to release this album.
ISEEORANGE: “We don’t have set dates yet [for the release]”
Wow. Yeah, I can understand how can it be. You want, you know, I think you want just to put out this album and get it out and going on tour.
Well, we have right now just a couple of shows. We’re going to play The Great Escape again. We don’t have set dates yet because we still are waiting for all the details so we can announce. But we’re definitely going to try to play as much as we can in the summer. And once the album comes out, we are also working on getting physical music out. So people can get it because that’s something that our fans really ask for it because we don’t have anything physical. For example, we released an EP in 2023, and we haven’t done any physical CDs or vinyls yet, and they really want that. So we want to have all that for this album.
Okay. Well, Giselle, I wanted to thank you for your time.
Thank you.
