Acolyte – Resilience unplugged official music video

Explorative & Progressive Metal act Acolyte says this about the Recovery EP
“There’s an intimacy, rawness and atmosphere to both the music and emotive narrative on ‘Entropy’, which includes a lot of cinematic and orchestral elements. As we re-emerged from the long lockdowns here in Melbourne in late 2021 we felt we wanted to showcase some of the more mellow tunes on the record in a raw and acoustic performance setting, which was in the end quite a therapeutic way for us to reconnect as a group after what was quite a tumultuous time – Recovery is indeed an apt title for the release.”

Chris Cameron – drummer continues….

“We’ve always had the dream of performing alongside a full orchestra as a group, so this EP was also a chance for us to dip our toes into re-imagining and arranging some of our repertoire together with an orchestral ensemble. The players we pulled together for the session were nothing short of outstanding, and the feeling in the room was quite special as we heard the arrangements bring a new perspective to the tunes we knew so well. We’re extremely proud of the result, and are excited to share both the audio and video with the world!

Dynamics, contrast and variety in instrumentation is something that we love and is essentially at the core of Acolyte’s musical aesthetic – that’s why we love the open platform that is progressive rock / metal. We’re looking forward to exploring how this might impact and coalesce with our existing vision for our next record.”

Acolyte have been gracing stages across Australia in April with Caligula’s Horse, with The Music saying that Morgan-Leigh Brown is “singer that is fast becoming an icon of the progressive rock scene” and that Acolyte are “one of the most entertaining prog bands in the country” (HEAVY Mag). The power prog outfit have now announced they will join Eurovision – Australia Decides runners up VOYAGER on a three date stint in August.
