Six months have passed since the beginning of the video series “Lockdown Sessions“, launched by Lyria. While the pandemic persists around the world, the Brazilian symphonic metal band continues to make music. Ensuring social isolation, the band encourages each fan to stay in their homes when possible, but still enjoying the good old metal. This time, the quartet presents to fans “The Rain“, a song from the second album, “Immersion“, released in 2018.

In a simple way and with a lot of creativity, Lyria has already presented live versions recorded at a distance: Jester, Follow the Music, Light and Darkness, and a tribute to Linkin Park, with a mashup of Crawling and Numb. While their online concerts used to be streamed from Lyria’s home studio, in Lockdown Sessions the musicians are in their own homes, and the performances are recorded using their phones. The series will feature more songs from the band’s two albums, Catharsis (2014) and Immersion (2018), as well as some versions, all kept secret by the members.

Bands need to entertainment, but also to inspire. Many fans get inspired by their idols, so it is important to give positive and real examples. We cannot stop producing, so we will continue to create content together, but separately. We know that we are living hard times, but things will get better. We have to live one day at a time and always try to do our best. We will continue our mission to bring joy to our fans, whether through live chats, videos, etc.“, concludes Aline Happ (lead singer).

One of the greatest bands in the Brazilian metal scene, Lyria is formed by Rod Wolf (guitar), Thiago Zig (bass) and Thiago Mateu (drums), in addition to Aline. The group was founded in 2012, and since then they have become known in Brazil and in the world, mainly in Europe and the United States, since the launch of “Catharsis” (2014). Currently, they continue with online releases and soon plan to return to the tour with the album “Immersion” (2018), which has already passed through several cities in Brazil.
