Review by Tony Cannella

Arch Enemy is so freaking good at this point. The band has remained consistent throughout their history and show no signs of slowing down. With their latest album, “Will to Power”, the band continues to plow through everything and leave a path of destruction in their wake. The frenzied guitar of the opening instrumental intro track “Set Flame to the Night” creates the atmosphere and segues into the bombastic “The Race”. This song is aptly named as it races straight for the finish line. As always Alissa White-Gluz sounds amazing on this track and indeed throughout the duration of the 54-minutes that we are treated to. “Blood in the Water” is phenomenal and the guitar work by Michael Amott and Jeff Loomis is otherworldly. Arch Enemy has always managed to inject a good amount of melody with their aggressive assault and that has always been one of the strengths of the band. “The World Is Yours” is a full on antagonistic attack. Just unadulterated magic.“Will to Power” is chock full of great music that it is impossible to pick a favorite or best song. From track 1 to track 12 it is solid from beginning to end.“Will to Power” is such a great album and is definitely one of the best albums that Arch Enemy has ever graced us with. “Will to Power” is one of the best albums of 2017. That. Damn. Good!
