Review by Tony Cannella

Throughout her 30 plus year career Doro has been as consistently good as any artist has in heavy rock. Sure, some albums have been better than others have but she has always delivered top-notch music and her live shows are some of the best. It has been four long years since Doro last released a full-length album. That was the excellent “Raise Your Fist” and now the metal queen returns with a brand-new single called “Love’s Gone to Hell”.

This EP features three different versions of the title song. “Love’s Gone to Hell” is a strong track that is built around a heavy, methodical riff and a haunting melody. I loved this song. In addition to this great song we have a duet with Lemmy on “It Still Hurts”. This song serves as a poignant tribute to Lemmy. Next, we have a live version of “Rock Till Death” featuring a duet with Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch; it is a great thing two hear two of the most recognizable voices in metal coming together on one track. A live version of one of my favorite Doro songs ever “Save My Soul” is next. The demo version of “Love’s Gone to Hell” brings this EP to its conclusion. Doro is currently working on a new album, which should, hopefully be out by the end of the year. If “Love’s Gone to Hell” is a glimpse of what we can expect, then get ready.

Rating – 85/100
