Third album, and first for Frontiers Music SRL, for IT’sALIE. The band led by Giorgia and Camillo Colleluori, have releasedWild Games. Indeed, it’s a work that brings them definitive and well-deserved recognition. The track list consists of eleven songs, opening with the dynamic Waiting for the Rain. Actually, a song that highlights the strengths of the album. Powerful vocals, impeccable rhythm section, lively guitar, all perfectly blended by excellent production that makes Wild Games‘ sound literally spectacular.
Wild Games: “New cornerstone of contemporary classic hard/heavy music”
It is destined to become a new cornerstone of contemporary classic hard/heavy music. Musicians and composers with a modern perception of the genre do not limit themselves to reproducing the stylistic features that became classic in the 1980s, before the grunge flood confined them to the realm of enthusiasts alone, updating them to today’s performance requirements. One Way to Rock sees Giorgia jockey with Mat Sinner, who, in addition to playing bass, co-produces Wild Games with Camillo Colleluori, and harks back to the most energetic Winger, making them even rawer. While Living in the City showcases a lively guitar style which, together with the vocals (another great performance), is supported by the impeccable drumming that provides the guide for Wild Games.
Wild Games: “No signs of letting up even when the pace slows down”
An album that shows no signs of letting up even when the pace slows down, as in History Remains, which proves to be the ideal showcase for the band’s talents. Each member plays their role perfectly within the context of the group. ITs’ALIE is not a collection of magnificent soloists but a perfectly coordinated ensemble. I won’t repeat myself about Giorgia‘s voice, but her years of experience with Eternal Idol. And, I believe, above all with the Rock Meets Classic project and Sinner are put to good use with great personality. Listen to her in Rebels, a crystal-clear hard ‘n’ heavy track that takes us straight to Badlands territory.
A superior quality album
The great Camillo is one of the best drummers, and not only in Europe. Mat Sinner‘s resume speaks for itself. Leonardo Duranti embodies the role of the guitarist who puts himself at the service of the group without sacrificing his natural self-esteem, taking his space but never exaggerating. Then there is the production (it is worth highlighting the work of Magnus Karlsson on the mix) that makes Wild Games a superior quality album. Eleven tracks and no let-up in tension. I repeat, Gates of Faith is another gem of blues-infused hard rock. Another element that we can recognize as fundamental to defining the sound that sets the album alight. Wake Up Call will rouse the live audience, a truly wild episode that shows that the energy has not yet been exhausted.
Closing words
Death Road advances decisively between sudden accelerations and decelerations, the irrepressible urgency of the performance does not detract from the natural predisposition to melody, which, on the contrary, is always very present. The finale is entrusted to the classic metal of Spirits, with the spirit of Heart hovering over the track (and Whitesnake appearing on the side). Eleven songs, four magnificent performers, one album, one compact group.
