Queen V is an underground rock icon of New York. With a career of almost ten years, she has a rock style that draws fully from the bands that made history of this genre. Nothing new on the horizon if it wasn’t that V‘s songs have an incredible energy. A rock voice, verve, charisma and the desire of kicking some ass are her main qualities. Besides you have to add the fact that she had the honor to open the concerts of Twisted Sisters and Billy Idol, so she really knows her stuff.
I said ten years, what better way to celebrate it than releasing a compilation? V seizes the moment with “The Decade Of Queen V” which sees the collaboration with some famous guitarists and of course her. The CD starts with “Revolution Baby” that makes it clear that rock is in V‘s veins: “The Revolution Baby is not for sale/If you think you own me/Go to hell”. Another highlight of the album is surely the brand new “Cry Your Eyes Out” characterized by a less aggressive voice than usual. The same thing happens with the touching “Right or Wrong” though the V‘s style doesn’t mellow too much. In “My Machine” there is the contribution of the Rage Against The Machine‘s guitarist Tom Morello who played a fantastic solo. The conclusive “Wasted” is the fruitful collaboration between V and the Motorhead‘s leader Lemmy who provided his voice and pen to our singer. “The Decade Of Queen V” is a great occasion to listen to a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll. Give it a try.
