Inspired by Tolkien’s The Lord Of The Rings, this is the Italian power metal band’s sixth release and what a belter this is. It’s an epic wall of sound with the speedy opener Lightning In The Sky kicking things into action. Then like the opener, the album goes on to hammer your senses and with three guitarists at the lead, it is no wonder.
The Legend Of The Six: exploring a dark side
To tell the truth I have all the band’s previous releases, but The Legend Of The Six Kings”explores to me somewhat darker regions than their previous records. And their singers Giada ‘Jade’ Etro and Federico Mondelli, the latter also being one of the band’s guitarists nail it to a tee. Indeed, Federico‘s harsh vocals come to the fore, particularly on the track Winter Hearts that being one of the standout cuts with its fist pumping chorus. Other belters include the catchy To The Stars and the awesome closing title track with Federico again giving his all.
This release leaves no prisoners, and to be honest every track here is well worthy of your money. Having already stated that I have all Frozen Crown‘s previous releases I do love this band! They are heavy, melodic and to me they tick all the right boxes. Well recommended and this album is out now!
