Review by Tony Cannella

“My Turn to Deal” is the title of the debut EP from the hard rockin’ all female group The Phoenix. The band plays 80’s influenced hard rock with a punk-like energy and enthusiasm as you can hear on the 4-songs and 18-minutes worth of material contained on “My Turn to Deal”. The EP opens with a shot of adrenalin with the song “My Turn to Deal” which gets the ball rolling. The energetic opening track highlights the bands punk rock-like exuberance and energy. The next track, “Dangerous Girl” changes the tempo and style a bit with its sing along chorus and catchy, hook-laden melody. “You Can’t Stop the Rock’n Roll” is next and begins with a slower tempo and quickly transforms into an anthemic rocker. The final song “Party Hard” brings things to a fiery conclusion. Overall, I was very impressed with what The Phoenix has to offer. “My Turn to Deal” is a hard rock record that is full of energy. Fans of Crucified Barbara, Sister Sin, Girlschool and Halestorm should check this band out. You will not be disappointed. Great stuff!
