Review by Tony Cannella

From Norway, Djerv plays a pretty strong combination of Hard Rock/Metal, mixing that with the energy and enthusiasm of Punk Rock, put all of that together and you get their debut 3-song, 12-minute EP “Headstone”. The pounding opener “Headstone” wastes little time in getting things off to an aggressive start filled with attitude and swagger. “Ladder to the Moon” is next and continues in a straight-forward direction. This song has a pretty cool chorus that sticks in your head long after you’ve heard it for the first time. When the final song “Immortal” ends there is no denying that the three songs that make up “Headstone” packs a lot of raw power and the songs have a live feel to them. Despite its short playing time, Djerv makes the most out of the 12-minutes that are provided on “Headstone”. Djerv are certainly a change of pace from the normal operatic, symphonic fronted metal bands and one that should appeal to fans who like their metal a bit more stripped down.

Rating – 75/100
