In Morpheus’ Arms hail from Germany and have recently released their debut “Distrust the Mantra”. Among the 8-songs and 50-minutes worth of music you will find here, are songs with intricate arrangements that one would associate with progressive music.After a brief 30-second “Intro”, In Morpheus’ Arms get busy on the 9-minute opener “Reality”. Immediately the band shows off their skills as musicians on this track. That is followed by the heavier, more up-tempo “Revelations”. The 10-minute “Contacting the Angelic” slows things down a notch and has a dreamy, ethereal vibe to it. The musicians are allowed to take center stage on the instrumental “Pandemonium” which is divided up into three parts. The epic 10-minute track, “Return of Reality” draws “Distrust the Mantra” to a close. With “Distrust the Mantra” In Morpheus’ Arms should be a welcomed sight for fans of the Progressive Metal genre.
